Memorial Day & Canada Day

Memorial Day Service Please join us as we stand in solidarity to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of the Newfoundland Regiment during the Battle of the Somme at Beaumont-Hamel. Organizations or individuals wishing to lay a wreath should contact the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 at 709-834-2331. Time: 10:30 a.m. Location: Monument of Honour, Remembrance Square Canada Day Celebrations Join us for Canada Day in Conception Bay South! Enjoy musical entertainment, bouncy castles, a free BBQ and cake, and plenty of fun activities. Time: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Location: Sgt. Ned Nugent’s Field, 176 Red Bridge Road Reminders: Wear red and white to show your Canadian spirit! Dogs are not permitted on the event field (service animals are allowed). Lawn chairs encouraged. Fireworks Please note: If a fire ban is in place, the fireworks show will not proceed and fireworks will be strictly prohibited. Join us for our annual Canada Day fireworks display! Watching along the CBS T’Railway, Kelligrews, will provide a great viewing location. Time: 10:00 p.m. Location: Cronin’s Head Lookout on Pond Road Traffic Advisory: Road closures will be in effect during the fireworks show at the following locations: Pond Road, Station Road, Tilleys Road North, and Sheridan Avenue.
