What Out & About NL will and will not list.
Listings are meant to help people make practical local plans from official or clearly attributed sources.
We do not list
Weapons or weapon sales.
Adult services.
Illegal drugs, vapes, or cannabis retail promotion.
Medical claims, miracle cures, or unverified health promises.
Unsafe, recalled, or prohibited items.
Hate groups or discriminatory events.
Scams, misleading offers, or unclear organizers.
Unverified fundraisers with unsupported claims.
Fundraisers and charity listings
Official charity, venue, organizer, or ticketing links are preferred.
GoFundMe and personal fundraisers require extra caution and may stay unpublished unless the organizer and purpose are clear.
Medical need, financial hardship, and beneficiary claims should be copied only from the official source and clearly attributed.
When source evidence is thin, the listing should point users to the official organizer/source instead of adding an interpretive summary.
Support/help listings
Support resources need a higher bar than ordinary events. Listings should show a last verified date, link the official source, include available phone or email contact, and avoid promising availability.
Emergency or crisis resources should be clearly separated from general community help.
Wording should stay factual: what the source says, who runs it, where it is, and how to contact it.
Corrections
Every public event listing includes links to report an issue, suggest an edit, claim the listing, or submit another event. Corrections go into editorial review before changing a public listing.
