Privacy

Plain-language privacy policy.

Out & About NL collects only the information needed to run submissions, newsletters, listing corrections, owner claims, and basic site measurement.

What we collect

Newsletter signup stores your email, selected preferences, consent time, and unsubscribe status.

Event submissions and listing feedback store the name and email you provide so editors can verify details or follow up.

Click analytics store the destination URL, event ID when available, timestamp, and keyed hashes of IP address and user agent. Raw IP addresses are not stored for click tracking.

Email consent

Newsletter email is opt-in only. Every subscription has a signed unsubscribe link, and unsubscribed addresses are marked inactive.

Submission and correction emails are used for editorial follow-up. They are not added to the newsletter unless the person separately subscribes.

Payments and invoices

When paid advertising or business listings are offered, card handling and invoices should stay in Stripe. Out & About NL should store only the minimum listing and billing contact information needed to administer the account.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from newsletter email using the unsubscribe link in a message.

You can ask for correction or deletion of personal information by emailing hello@outandaboutnl.ca.
